I think, Concentration in meditation – looking at the center in between the two brows, start of the nose, is a way to mingle the Soul with the Supreme Soul – the Super Consciousness – the God.
So, when we concentrate the ever thinking, ever jumping mind, our sixth sense, it is just a way to Still the mind and make it thought less and let all other cells of the body figure out its job.
After just 20 mins of concentration, we find that the problems of the Body solved. for example, if a person has Constipation, he can concentrate on a job, and he gets the TRIGGER to go to Toilet and cleanse the body.
Thought Influence, Interfere with body clock and body cell functions, thats why we get Diseases.
So, a little Concentration once in a while is necessary to Silence the Thoughts and direct our Inner Radar to Cosmic rays.

With all due respect Pasupati..what you have described (is your understanding). From my perspective this is not TRUE MEDITATION. If this works for you and makes you happy, wonderful. However, I am not interested in Cosmic Rays, constipation, body cell functions, supreme soul, super consciousness or CONTROLLING THOUGHTS….Here’s what I advocate for MEDITATION.
Dear Dvorahji:
I have tried countless of meditations and I still have not found any stillness nor the gap between the thoughs? I have heard that as we become aware of the gap between the thoughs the gap increases but I can not even find the smallest gap. It has been said that we have abouth 60,000 thoughts per day. I seem to have those 60,000 thoughts in one meditation. I call it a chaotic meditation and it gets frustrating. Any advice on how can I find even the smallest gap?
Darling One:
From my perspective, most meditations are a waste of time, especially for people like you. Meditation is usually sitting in a disciplined environment, “trying trying and then trying some more to get rid of your thoughts through concentration and finding “the gap” (a truly illusive concept for most people). It’s actually at the point when the mind finally let’s go, that you can call your practice ‘Meditation”. Before that point, it should be called, “hours of discipline and CONCENTRATION. BUT Meditation – it’s absolutely NOT!.
Now I don’t want to cause trouble in the spiritual community, HOWEVER, I feel that here is where many well known spiritual techniques and practices have blown it!. Hours and hours and years and years of sitting and concentrating, waiting for the moment when the mind finally gets COMPLETELY EXHAUSTED, and you finally, finally drop into your own “thought-less” TRANSCENDENT BEING OR in American terms “the gap”, (sounds like the clothing store to me).
A true meditation technique should begin where all the concentration ends, it should start at the point of “LETTING GO”. It’s still a discipline, because you sit down and you stay there for a certain length of time HOWEVER – there is NO CONCENTRATION, only letting go.
It’s unfortunate that so many people have been turned off to meditation because all they experience is sitting there and watching a zillion thoughts go by, while looking for that illusive gap! Ridiculous. Most teachers who teach meditation don’t have a clue what meditation is.
The good news is ” That many more teachers who teach meditation DO!. You need to find ONE THAT DOES, and then for the first time you will experience TRUE MEDITATION.
IF you’re interested, my recommendations are:
1. Sahaj Samadhi Meditation – taught through the Art of Living organization
2. Transcendental Meditation – taught through the TM organization (however it’s extremely expensive)
And of course, LIFE IS A HAPPENING – and you will FALL INTO “BEING” MEDITATION WHEN IT’S TIME…meanwhile my personal suggestion is find a great meditation teacher with a “letting go technique”.
Love Dvorahji
PS. BTW – Thoughts are a part of meditation, contrary to what most people believe…they come and go in formal meditation like they do in life…And what do you do when they come and they go? You, go back to the mantra and there you go “letting go” back into SPACE AGAIN, back into MEDITATION, you Nature. Get a good teacher and if you already have one…go get your meditation checked, you’re probably straining…..Happy meditating…Medit
tion is YOUR NATURE….have fun!

what i meant to convey is, if you do anything with FULL IMMERSION, the other positive things happen AUTOMATICALLY.

me did TM and practice it now and then.
get Stillness, thoughtless state, Bliss.
My only complaint is, they don’t last long.
want to be like Swami Nithyananda
and Mata Amrithanand Mayee.

A person gets cancer then with “Full immersion” meditates, does everything he can to get rid of the disease and dies of it anyway. FULL IMMERSION DOES NOT “always” end in “postive things happening automatically”. Many time the negative happens anyway! People meditate, concentrate, doing all their asanas and japa for years and their life is stillWHACK!
From my perspective you do what you can…and know that whatever happens (and it’s not always positive) IS WHAT IT IS AND YOU STAY IN PEACE even when it doesn’t go positive or “your way” . Effort does not equate with success. Your own experience should verify that.

Pasupati, NOTHING LASTS LONG…Please, READ SOME OF MY POSTS, you’ve got some basic misunderstandings about thoughts, thoughtless state, bliss…You seem to want that stuff to last and that’s impossible…If you’re interested in what I have to offer, you need to read my book posts/videos and see if it serves you.
If the Swami is your Guru, better just go deeply into his teaching and do whatever he tells you and leads you to do…Take one path and let it lead you deeply into YOURSELF.

Anxious/Fear? Slow down your breathing. If you can’t – THEN be anxious for awhile for NO REASON (what choice do you have?) SO WHAT? SO YOU’RE ANXIOUS – Have some milk honey and a big fat banana with a chaser of Valarian, you’ll be fine.
Dvorahji Dvorah Adler “Love for others is the RESULT of SELF-knowledge, not it’s cause!”-
nisargaddatta……People are always trying to love each other, aren’t they?
But does it work? Do you love your girlfriend all the time? OR your mother all the time? Or your friends/co-workers all the time? Relax with your concepts/feverishness/guilt over Love & BE LOVE. LOVE IS YOUR NATURE.
HOWEVER, I do acknowledge that LOVE is OUR NATURE and in the big picture, YEA, WE ARE ALL ONE, CAUSE THERE IS ONLY THIS.
So please, do NOT get in a TWIST because you can’t love everybody as yourself in a very ordinary way. It’s enough you know deep in you’re heart that we are all ONE/LOVE without a second and do the best you can in the “love” department
they are surviving by doing lot of politics.
how to make them see the Emotional side?
they also say emotional people are Idiots.
they force you to think Logically
and force you to play games.

For one day , see them walking around in their colorful underwear doing the best THEY KNOW HOW TO DO, AND everytime they tell you what to do, put a smile on your face and say: Yes Sir (and imagine them in their cartoon or hearts underwear). Then chuckle to yourself and REALIZE —–THEY DO WHAT THEY DO AND…YOU DO WHAT YOU DO and that’s how the world works….
…..and by the way…If you haven’t taken the ART Of LIVING.ORG breathing course, go for it…IT WILL loosen you up, get rid of the stress and make you happy! (and if you have taken it, take the second part and then a DSN course) and you should be good to GO FOR A LONG WHILE! Baby it’s time for you to do a little YOGA and breathing……. love you Pasupati, Dvorah-gee! (I wear Mini-Mouse granny style underwear!)
My face is not always like that. wanted a best click.
Even Shirdi Sai Baba looks so stressed.
But he is worshiped as God.
Jesus, Buddha, Osho all looked so Serious. Rarely I saw teeth in Osho or Jesus or Buddha mug shots.
Lord Krishna, Vishnu pictures show always cool, happy, smiling.
Lord Shiva is always Serious.
because he is Lord of Tantras, Pranava.
So, being serious is no Crime. I laugh. Smile.
will add those pics here soon.
So from now on when I see your picture, I’ll think:
” Pasupati is smiling!”——-But remember, you’re friends with me, Dvorahji and I AM NOT SERIOUS….EVER! and laugh at everything especially Osho ( what a sex maniac) and Jesus (getting himself crucified, totally stupid!) and Krishna (and all his escapades with his Gopis) and Buddhas (well Buddha is adorable) and especially Lord Shiva! (What a freak with that snake around his body!)
So in a way, being serious to me IS A CRIME, unless you’re smiling inside or at least cursing!
News readers cant smile much.
who is Shiva? why he carried a serpent? and a river Ganga on his head? u can never learn abt Hinduism.
and y dont u like the Krishna with his Gopis?
I think even if u LAUGH so loudly u don’t look Good.
or Adorable.
I have doubts on your Authority on the Domain that you choose to speak – Spirituality.
Life is not always LAUGH. you should be serious to create.
Plants are serious – they produce Flowers which smile.
Bees are serious – they produce Honey – which smiles, smells good.
All the Ecology is Serious. If you seriousness is a Crime – i think u cant produce anything useful.
Don’t say Life is meaningless. It has.
Everyone finds his own way…and OBVIOUSLY I’m not your way…There are many great Gurus for you to DELVE INTO and take seriously (and of course your Hinduism is important to you). I suggest you CHOOSE ONE and wholeheartedly completely with no reservation, NONE – go deeply into that Path.
Sending you all my love and blessings (like a MOM not a Guru)- and you can always contact me personally and tell me the “good News” as to how you are doing.
Dvorahji Dvorah Adler Positive thinking, Law of attraction are the INFANT STAGES of spirituality (many old time Seekers are going back to infancy-STOP!) You’ve stuck your toe into the spiritual pool & find pleasure in the surface. Why not dive IN? Drop all your mind & body manipulations & with open arms DIVE NAKED, NO DEMANDS into the cool vast ocean of PEACE.
p.s. I always thought mumuksha meant “gimme gimme more”….
pre judgements – come on when you surface you might be ENLIGHTENED
Be one with your giggle.
U.G.Krishnamurthi… also maintained that the reason people came to him (and to gurus), was in order to find solutions for their everyday real problems, and/or for solutions to a fabricated problem, namely, the search for spirituality and enlightenment. He insisted that this search is caused by the cultural environment, which demands conformity of individuals as it simultaneously places within them the desire to be special – the achievement of enlightenment thus viewed as a crowning expression of an individual’s “specialness” and uniqueness. Consequently, the desire for enlightenment is exploited by gurus, spiritual teachers, and other “sellers of shoddy goods”, who pretend to offer various ways to reach that goal. According to U.G., all these facilitators never deliver, and cannot ever deliver, since the goal itself (i.e. enlightenment), is unreachable.[1]
orah Adler
meanwhile, move along, keep moving until THAT SPACE SWALLOWS YOU WHOLE!!!~!!
Confused…. but it’s okay hehe
Even teachers/yoga teachers/meditation teachers, who have been teaching for a long time, still DON’T GET IT: Thoughts are a part of formally “doing” meditation. Thoughts, mantra, silence, thoughts mantra silence, THEN NO THOUGHT NO MANTRA AND THEN……….OFF WE GO AGAIN, THOUGHTS, MANTRA SILENCE AND ON AND ON….
TRUE MEDITATION which has nothing to do with the mind OR a technique…is 100% relaxation into your NATURE, AT PEACE WITH SELF-YOUR NATURE. Formal meditation will always have thoughts at one point or other and like life you just keep doing it and when it’s over it’s a great excercise and you feel great or NOT, but at least you “think” you’ve done something great for yourself and the environment.
I like meditation, and eventually you do get glimpses, (full relaxation) into your Nature…keep mediating, but withOUT this ferver of :”oh I got a million thoughts to get rid of!”….THAT IS the thought that’s screwing you up.
Sit down, close the eyes, be stillllll, start your mantra and offfffffffffff you go – until you’re time is up. And group meditation are always GREAT!
I come from a tradition of HAPPY (let’s save the world and make them happy too) GURUS, so it makes sense that I would take that route. Maharishi was happy, but serious about his mission, Sri Sri, is even happier, and also serious about his mission. I’m happy and could basically give a YUCK! BUT still they’ve trained me to share, share share, and there really is nothing more fulfilling that knowing that someone is happier then they were before and recognizes that they can really DROP ALL THAT NONSENSE they’ve been carrying around – cause LIFE IS A HAPPENING AND IF IT COULD BE DIFFERENT IT WOULD.
I leave Enlightenment up to the BIG GURUS, I’M here to move you along until you’re SWALLOWED UP BY A BIG VAST INFINITE BOA CONSTRICTOR THAT DOESN’T LEAVE ANYTHING BEHIND!
YOU KNOW, you have no recourse but to eventually come home and relax, absolutely none!!
