Dvorahji: I have this one big question: Why if Gautam Buddha achieved enlightenment by penance, why, instead of sharing his enlightenment, did he teach about how to live life with Dharma? Perhaps life is enlightenment? This sounds logical, but is it a trick of the mind?
******
Darling: Buddha did what he did. (which was appropriate for that time and place). How come Jesus only took 12 disciples and only one woman and why was she a prostitute? BECAUSE he did what he did. WHY don’t you stand on a rooftop and shout everything you’ve learned to everybody, every day? BECAUSE, you do what you do. Buddha did what he did, Jesus did what he did, and you do what you do. IT’s just that simple. Buddha followed his story line, Jesus followed his story line, and you follow your story line.
Now if Buddha is your path and his teachings & teachers are your teachers, you’ll probably be following what Buddha said, which Now is no longer his story line but YOURS. EVerything and Everyone including “the Masters” just do what they do” in their own story. IT’s a LILA honey….a story, a Life time original movie.
By the Way – there’s nothing wrong with wondering about anything, it’s just something to wonder about that goes in and out of your mind, like “why did he say that”, or “maybe I need a new vitamin” or “I wonder if Mary really was a virgin”….there’s no end to all the thoughts that come and go….There’s no substance in your mundane thoughts or your intellectual thoughts or your holy/sacred thoughts…they’re all thoughts moving in & out…and so what? That’s what the mind does, it thinks! By he way, there’s no substance to Buddha either, except when you think of him is there? Where is he when you’re not thinking of him? GONE!!!! …CUT OFF HIS HEAD!
And where are you when you’re not “thinking” of yourself? You’re just doing what you’re doing, no thoughts, no mantra, just chugging along like ” The little engine that could!” YOU’RE GONE TOO!!!!!….CUT OFF YOUR OWN HEAD…..and see how happy you are!

perception seems to uncover reality, but reality is relative; yes, it seems to depend on the perceivers sensors.
