Ask Dvorahji: Is having a Guru giving your POWER AWAY?

R.S: “…abdicating your power for me means letting a third party (a guru) make decisions for you. He tells u what to do or not. That means giving away your freedom.
Gautam Saigal My point is simple your internal guidence is the real deal. Not some certified or not, true guru. When you realise that, you are set free. You are connected to god. My point is simple: Your internal guidence is the real deal. Not some certified or not, true guru.”*****
Darling: First of all I have a Guru and this nonsence about “abducating your power” is ridiculous. What power do you have to abdicate? The Divine runs the show not you, so what power would the Guru want from you? Your brain? Your tired old body? it’s ridiculous that the Guru wants your power. What would he do with it? Such spiritual kindergarden concepts.
Buddha said, “deeds are done and there is no individual doer”. What do you think that means? It MEANS YOU DO NOT RUN THIS SHOW. AGAIN THE DIVINE RUNS THE SHOW…However your “ego/mind” THINKS it runs the show. But FROM MY PERSPECTIVE that silly.
A True Guru only wants the best for you…and he/she is YOUR VERY NATURE IN a different form and functions as a guide to help you let go of all your concepts and see THAT LOVE, ENLIGHTENMENT GOD, GURU are your nature. First of all (from my perspective) Guru’s don’t tell you what to do…they don’t care what you do…because they know, you do what you do! Why? Again, Because the DIVINE RUNS THE SHOW, not some “puny” idea of freedom that people “think” they have. You are so smart and you HAVE MISSED THE SPIRITUAL POINT.
And Second “FREEDOM has nothing to do with being connected to God. THERE ARE NO TWO…NEVER. YOU ARE ALWAYS CONNECTED TO GOD. ..This “thinking” of being set free and then you are connected to God…it’s just ANOTHER CONCEPT seekers tend to believe. It’s all this “Law of Attraction nonsense that you are buying into. It’s a very very minor law, a physical law…it’s NOTHING in the big picture.
Guidance, unfortunately is usually a feeling, or maybe an intuitive feeling or whatever, it’s all the same thing. The Divine runs the show!! No “inner & outer” NO “I make the decisions and don’t give my power away” nonsense. NOT for a true seeker of truth.
I have taken a lot of time here and why? Because you are such a sincere person who’s “thinking is askew”. You’re looking in the wrong direction. You ARE LOOKING OUT, you just “think” you’re looking in. You’re a heart beat away, a blink from WAKING UP.
You want some real truth? Read Ramana for awhile without all these other distractions of spiritual concepts that you have…Read Nissargaddatta. Just for one day…SKIP the law of attraction stuff, skip Abraham Hicks…
Just READ ONE GREAT GURU OR BOOK…read the concise Vasistha…or for modern day…Read Ramesh or an interesting guy like Nathan Gill, or even Tony Parsons. Check out my Guru Sri Sri Ravi Shankar…Take your pick! Just read sincerely something different then the hype you’ve been reading. it’s for beginners….and of course there is nothing wrong with it…But you seem to think you know “Something & have some power that you don’t want to give away”…and you have no idea how ridiculous that sounds”.
I have one last suggestion: Try a new mantra:
“I am always free, always connected to God and so is EVERYTHING AND EVERYONE ELSE…and freedom and power are words I made up…
I have GREAT CONFIDENCE IN YOUR GUIDANCE as you ARE ALWAYS BEING GUIDED AND YOU ARE ALWAYS DOING THE RIGHT THING…ALWAYS…NO EXCEPTIONS – EVER.
Ps. and remember..Your “intuition” found me…I didn’t go looking for you, so for one moment…drop your belief system and with an open MIND check out mine….and thennnnnnnnnn who knows…anything is possible in consciousness… I may start doing affirmations cause I really do need a trip to Hawaii!

‘DAT’s me and my GURU…Guru is your Nature…Have Fun with your Guru……

More sent to me about this post:
R: Dvorahji, you don’t sound very encouraging, very loving here. Everyone has their own path. It’s easier to catch flies with sugar then a fly swatter…

Dvorahji: Well darling, how long have you been listening to all this “loving, encouraging, you are a great powerful person mesmerizing mantra BS- and where has it gotten you? Holding on to the power you “think” you have & don’t want to give away!”

You came to me expecting the same old goobly-goop and to support your “beliefs system. And guess what? Your intuition DID work! CAUSE I agree with practically NOTHING you’ve presumed so far. LUCKY for you I brought my big Danda stick…

LOVE, KINDNESS, SURRENDER, ENLIGHTENMENT ARE your nature…loving words, thoughts actions are your karma, your minute to minute happening…some are more loving then others…and Unfortunately for you, I’m a hot tamalie…

and you should have believed my warnings (and I did warn you several times) before you decided to come to me. so next time someone tells you “I’m not your cup of Chai, turn the page”…you should believe them. You can TRY A NEW ADVENTURE but adventure means “the unknown and you don’t know what’s coming”………and here I COME!

More on this:
R.S: “Dvorahji, Lets not make things complex, you always have choice moment to moment. If a certain choice does not serve you drop it & choose again. You just need to be aware that you have that choice. If you follow your heart & do what resonates, you will not get into this game of comparision or judgement.”

Dvorahji: NO CHOICE – NONE! The Divine runs the show, period. No exceptions and NO CHOICE. Consider that you’re delusional…

R.S. “I am not in a searching
mode. I am living my daily peace, happiness & joy… I am living all of it moment to moment. It is my being.

Dvorahji: “I told you before” I was not you cup of Chai”.
..and yes YOUR BEING IS living you…..and what does it matter. You’re happy! Great that’s all I really care about….

this whole conversation with R.S. reminds me of sitting in a small group in Canada in fron of Sri Sri.
For months before I’d been spontaneously told EVERYBODY & EVERYTHING: “No, not this, not this, not this..everything is an illusion”. I coundn’t even have a conversation with anyone without telling them even they were an illusion. I drove myself and everyone else crazy.

But now, when I was sitting in fron of Sri Sri I was calm, happy, Being, everything was wonderful….AND THEN Sri Sri begins to shout at me: “So have you had enough already, are you done yet!!”

…And as he shouted at me, I’m still feeling very very happy, feeling great (others were nervous, but I was in Space) and thinking: “What are you bothering me for, I feel great!”………

But from that day on all those annoying thoughts & discussion; telling everybody “NO NOT THIS, it’s all an illusion!” stopped. And people began to invite me over for dinner again!!!)

Moral of the story: Well – you never know what’s happening when the Guru starts Shouting at you! It’s probably a good thing! (at least in my case, I can’t vouch for anybody else’s).

@Dvorahji – interesting account of your time with Sri Sri in canada, lots there to learn from for us/me.

Also, interestingly when i started my journey with Sri Sri and had not yet “consciously” accepted him as my guru, i felt the same way like R.S. here. Not wanting my power to be given away to some guru, or someone having control over me. But very very soon, it didnt matter, my ‘so called power’ was nothing than a smaller extension of the guru/divine, in me, and now i am happy that i am totally surrendered, as now when i totally surrender i am the entire power of the guru or as much as my little soul pot is big enough to hold.

Recently at a volunteer meet in Delhi, Guruji (Sri Sri) shared that as big as the pot (soul) is that much i give, if its bigger, then i give more, if its so very very big then i myself come and sit in that pot.

Freedom… control… such things are in my humble opinion concepts that are totally wrong. At first, when we know nothing else, they work out… make us think that they are alright, and that there is power to be held back… but give it a deep and relaxed second thought… (here I will get myself excluded from dinner invitations…) Its an Illusion! Control is an illusion, freedom is an illusion… you cannot have what you are! Its like being a drop of water at the beach, looking for the ocean!

I think that having it explained doesn’t help so much either, but it is important, because once we get it explained, an experience follows that will awake in us the moment of realization, and then we know… we go… “OOOOoohhhhhH!!!!!!! NOW I GET IT!!!!”

And then, we get invited to dinner by our peers again and all that great stuff!!! Right lovely Dvorah!? XD

I do want to add, that the experiences people have and the words they use to describe IT don’t always jibe..
I don’t really know what R.S. “IS LIVING” …
I don’t know his inner experience…
All I know is what he tells me and he says, he’s happy, at peace, not seaching…
so it really doesn’t matter what he says about freedom or control or gurus or whatever…
BEING does it’s thing and we talk about it in our own language with our own interpretations & perceptions

Even if you use the definitions of great Gurus or Vedas as to to what the ultimate state looks like in a person—A person actually ‘LIVING” THAT STATE might give an explanation that sound ludicrous and ignorant. You’d have to really talk to someone in order to discover where they’re really at.

If you read Nisargaddatta or even Ramesh, he questions people as to what they know, and what they’re feeling. Some Guru’s have Siddhis and can just read your life backwards & forwards. Other have ordinary intuition or a combination of the two..

Sri Sri is loaded with Siddhis (you’d never know it) as they happen very naturally and he doesn’t talk about them or flaunt them. But if you’re intuitive & a keen observer, you can recognize them at the time & in retrospect. They flow very naturally in him. Read what his devotees have experienced with him…it’s very inspiring..

I’ve had so many unexpected experiences with him, they’re almost common place. Last time I was with him at Guru Purnima, I finally ended up in the foyer of his hotel with about 20 others before having to leave for the airport.

I was sitting talking to someone & it occured to me (only for a moment) that I was not going to be able to eat if I stayed in the room. I let the thought go and decided it was worth not eating if I could stay a little longer. Sri Sri was in the other room eating & having a meeting.

Someone told me that Sri Sri’s Assistant was looking for me. I didn’t want to go, because I was sure they were going to throw me out and I wanted to stay to see him again, so I pretended I didn’t get the message.

Finally his assistant sees me and I have no choice and I’m resigned that I’ll have to leave. Instead of throwing me out – she brings me a plate of Sri Sri”s food and says, “Guruji wants you to eat lunch”. I had this light lovely meal, and went back into the foyer. Sri Sri comes in and as he passes me matter of factly says in a soft voice, “Did you eat?”
I nodded blissfully, blown away!

I did give away my power to your guru Dvorahji.. I build a castle of concepts of dos and donts… I am attracted to gurus more articulate than S.S. with not so much of a circus, but that is my taste…everyone makes their pick, and even moving on from one to another is quite expanding…
Trust the source (man, woman) that has trancended the ego, because in the end, before full realization, mind tricks many teachers into thinking, now they’ve got it!!! The divine play can very well be played by egos, and they run the s
how!! That is what most of us do… So as I understand, you are saying egos are also divine 🙂 ? then to draw the line it comes to saying that the whole history of violence is also a divine play… where do you make the distinction, where is discrimination coming in? holy hug from Rishikesh

@Dvorah -I totally resonate with what you shared in the above comment of yours. Glad to have stumbled across you and connected. You are an absolute gem in this new age.

Also, laughed, with the mention that when you stopped counter arguing on illusion you got invited back again for friends dinners 🙂 Strikes a similar chord in me too.

As Sri Sri said on a discourse on buddha’s enlightenment, “words will never make anyone understand, and those that know will not say.”
I have now applied that in my life!
My dear Shutup Guru 🙂

Hege baby..again, you have no power to give away & the world is made of concepts and everyone & everything thinks & does what it thinks & does and it’s a miraculous astounding enchanting WTF!!!…and there are a million opinions on where distinction & discrimination comes in – pick one.

P.S. THE DIVINE RUNS THE SHOW! ALWAYS. Everything else is up for opinions, discussion, debates and arguments and they are all right or wrong depending on your perspective and experience.
